Takeda-Ryu Maroto-Ha Taïkaï of Havana.
APRIL 2009
Cubans and Europeans came together for the first time in Havana as part of the 4th International Taikai Aïki-jujutsu Takeda-ryu Maroto-ha. The event took place last April, during a long weekend. Three workshops for training, conducted simultaneously by Sensei Serge CHARLOPEAU 7th dan, Sensei Lenadro-MONTES LEON 6th dan, Sensei Marc FOURNEYRON 5th dan and Sensei Renaud Seguin 5th Dan.
The all supervised by Master Roland Maroteaux. In addition to the training in dojo every morning, a meeting of the International Committee of the WTMF was held at the Occidental Miramar hotel in Havana for the broad outlines of the school Maroto-ha on the world and make many projects.
As a prelude, a warm Cubans welcome followed by a buffet along a pool animated by a female orchestra and traditional dancers. The final demonstrations done by all instructors of the school (Cubans and Europeans) were of high quality.
The leaders, both administrative and technical, proceeded exchange souvenirs. The whole interspersed with sightseeing under a shiny sunlight.
At the end of the Taikai, which was a real success, and despite the uncertainties that have our friends Cubans because of the hurricanes that preceded the Taikai and the global economic crisis, each participant received a participation certificate and a small coin.
At this occasion, Sensei Lendro MONTES LEON received the bronze medal in the WTMF accompanied with a certificate and the budoka surname of "Minamoto-no-Montesu" and the diploma of honorary member of the UNADA, hands by its President Frédéric ORRICO. A really warm atmosphere and fellowship that demonstrates that the spirit of budo is not an empty word, and that with goodwill anything can be done. The next Taikai will be held in Avignon (FR) during the month of June 2011.
