Master Maroteaux to the Rank of 9th Dan

On 29th of May 2009, Shihan Roland Maroteaux (France) has been elevated to the rank of 9th Dan with the title of Hanshi by Saïko-Shihan Ronald Michio YAMANAKA, founder of Ju--jutsu Shindo-ryu Yamanaka-ha.
The ceremony took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Padova (Italy) in the presence of an impressive gathering of experts including, Giacomo Spartaco Bertoletti 9th dan, Chairman of the WJJKO and director of the famous Italian magazine "Samurai," Giovanni di MEGLIO 7th dan, Chairman of the YKKF, Darren SMITH 8th dan (Canada),
Laurent HAAG 8th dan (France) ROSSETTO 7th dan (Italy) CAVALLI 7th dan (Italy), Barry Mitchell 6th Dan (GB) Fred HOREMANS 6th dan (Belgium).Claude Chantegrel 6th dan (France); Francis Durot 6th dan (France) and many 5th dan, and the President of the French Federation UNADA Frédéric Orrico 4th dan. This event marks a turning point for Master Maroteaux, who saw his efforts rewarded.
He obtained recognition of his peers after a lifetime devoted to traditional martial arts, 33 years after his 6th Dan in Ju-jutsu issued by the British ju-jutsu Association in 1976. This illustrates well the phrase "Everything comes to those who wait " ... Never beg ! The news quickly spread around the world in the light of reactions from international experts who have sent their congratulations spontaneously.
